Karine (Kurkjian) is a freelance photographer. She has an M.A. in Educational Administration, California State University, Los Angeles; May, 1997 and a B.A. in Photography and Social Work, University of Maryland, Baltimore County; May, 1985.
Karine has had several photography exhibitions in the Los Angeles area. Her work has been published in AIM (Armenian International Magazine), Ararat Quarterly, The Guardian, and the Glendale News-Press. Currently, she is an elementary school teacher at the Glendale Unified School District. Karine attended two photography treks, Portugal (October, 1999) and China (October, 2000). She has traveled extensively and has photos from different countries. She is fluent in English, Armenian, Farsi, and Spanish.
Karine was invited to Bangkok, Thailand as a guest speaker/photographer by the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyuaburi (RMUTT) in December of 2007.
Karine’s first poems were in Armenian and Farsi. Since May of 2005 she started writing poems in English. Don Campbell’s poetry workshops have inspired her to take her writing seriously. |
